Second Hearing Scheduled for Kahnawą:ke Residency Law

The Kahnawą:ke Legislative Commission (KLC) wishes to inform the community that the Second Hearing for the Kahnawą:ke Residency Law is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Moose Lodge Hall from 5pm to 8pm. The purpose of the Second Hearing is to review the draft amendments agreed to at the First Hearing.

The draft amendments to the Kahnawą:ke Residency Law have been posted for a 30-Day Review Period beginning on Friday, May 15, 2026, and ending on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Interested community members on the Kanien’kehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke Registry should pre-register their attendance by contacting Samantha Montour of Office of the Kanien’kehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke Registry (OKKR) at 450-638-0500 or by email at samantha.montour@mck.ca. If there are not at least 10 pre-registrants, the Second Hearing will be rescheduled. Walk-ins are welcome.

A meal will be provided for those who pre-register.
