Request received for drafting Regulations under Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Commission wishes to advise the community that the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Public Safety Division has submitted two Regulation Request Forms, dated September 16, 2025, to draft Regulations pertaining to fines, and the appointment of Animal Control Officers, to be included under the Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law.

A Technical Drafting Committee (TDC) has been comprised and will prepare a plan on when and how it will engage with the community. The TDC’s plan regarding engagement details will be
