Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law Draft Amendments 30-Day Feedback Period

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Commission (KLC) wishes to advise the community that the draft amendments to the Mohawk Council Kahnawà:ke Election Law are now posted for viewing on the Community Decision Making Review Process (CDMRP) website at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com and has now entered the 30-day Feedback Period. 

The Feedback Period will be concluded on February 18, 2024.

Feedback can be submitted in writing via email or by telephone to Alan J. Rice, Executive Operations Officer, or Andrea Montour, General Manager, Executive Office. Contact information below.

The amended draft law is available for viewing in both a tracked change version - showing where changes were made (click here to view tracked change version), and a clean copy - fully revised (click here to view clean copy).

The community will be notified when the First Hearing has been scheduled to review the feedback and proposed amendments to the Draft Mohawk Council Kahnawà:ke Election Law.

The mandate to proceed with the proposed amendments was received on Seskehkó:wa/September 19, 2023.
