REMINDER - Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law Hearing tomorrow

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Commission (KLC) wishes to remind the community that a Hearing regarding the Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 29, at the Kahnawake Moose Lodge from 6pm to 8:30pm.

The amended draft law is available for viewing in both a tracked change version - showing where changes were made (click here to view tracked change version), and a clean copy - fully revised (click here to view clean copy).

The Technical Drafting Committee has completed Phase I and their front-end work while keeping the community informed throughout posting the following press releases:

• 12/09/2022      “Proposed Amendments to Animal Control Law to move forward” noted Mandate, Purpose, and Scope
• 03/08/2023      “Animal Control Consultation Report” report revised and reposted
• 07/06/2023      “Draft Animal Control Law posted for 30-day feedback period”
• 07/20/2023      “Community Consultation dates announced for the draft Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law”
• 07/24/2023      “Reminder for Community Consultation”  Kiosk at the Golden Age Club
• 10/18/2023      “Feedback Report available for viewing”

Once the Hearing(s) is/are completed, the Reading of the Law into the Record will be recorded at a future date and uploaded to the CDMRP website.
