Draft Kahnawà:ke Residency Law posted for Feedback

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) wishes to advise the community that the draft Kahnawà:ke Residency Law is now posted for viewing on the KLCC website (www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com) and has now entered the 30-day Feedback Period, which will conclude on Wednesday, 11 Ohiarihkó:wa/July 2018.

Feedback can be submitted in writing or by telephone to Ietsénhaienhs Rhonda Kirby, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Technician Trina C. Diabo, or by completing the Feedback Form online on the KLCC website.

The KLCC had received the request for legislation on 28, Kenténha/October, 2016. By process, the KLCC submitted a request for categorization to Chief & Council and, on 29 Kentenhkó:wa/November 2016, it was announced that the proposed legislation was confirmed as a ‘Type I’ urgent law in the Community Decision Making Process.
