KLCC announces Election Law Stakeholders Consultation meeting for mandate to amend the law

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that a date has been set to conduct a Community Stakeholders Consultation where Kahnawa’kehrò:non will be asked for:

1. A mandate to amend the Kahnawà:ke Election Law
2. Approval of the Purpose of the Kahnawà:ke Election Law
3. Selection of three (3) Community Representatives to sit on the Technical Drafting Committee

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 19, Tsothóhrha/December 2017 at the Golden Age Club from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

The proposed amendments are currently in the 30-day community feedback period, which concludes on Saturday, 16 Tsothóhrha/December 2017. To review the proposed amendments to the law click here.
