9/30/2015

The Kahnawą:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) wishes to advise Kahnawa’kehró:non that approximately twenty community members attended a formal information session held last evening at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Additionally, approximately twenty members of the Tobacco Working Group, consisting of Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke and Kahnawake Tobacco Association representatives, were also in attendance.

The proposed Kahnawą:ke Tobacco Law was read in its entirety, along with a reference to how the community Feedback Report ties in with the law. This was followed by a brief question and answer period.

The KLCC reminds the community that no decisions were made at this meeting. It was announced that the first hearing for the proposed Kahnawake Tobacco Law using the Community Decision Making Process will take place on Thursday, October 29th at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
