Reminder - Election Law Hearing tomorrow (Wednesday)

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to remind the community that Hearings for the proposed amendments to the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law are scheduled for January 21 and 28, 2015 from 6 to 8:30pm at the Karonhianóhnha School gymnasium.

The Second Draft was created and presented for public viewing and Community Feedback on 27, Kentenhkó:wa/ November 2014 after final consensus was reached on changes made to the First Draft on 23, Seskehkó:wa/ September 2014.

Those wishing to attend/participate in the upcoming Hearings are strongly urged to view the Second Draft on the Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission website at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com. Two versions are available: one with notes tracking the changes made, and a ‘clean copy’ included. Other than the tracking notes the two versions are identical.

Please note, though 2015 is an election year, participants have been made aware the amendments may not be in place in time for this year’s election.
