Election Law Hearings set for January 21 & 28

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to remind the community that Hearings for the proposed amendments to the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law are scheduled for January 21 and 28, 2015 from 6 to 8:30pm at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium.

Final consensus was reached on changes made to the First Draft on 23, Seskehkó:wa/ September 2014 after a total of seven meetings. The Second Draft was then created and presented for public viewing and Community Feedback on 27, Kentenhkó:wa/ November 2014.

Those wishing to attend/participate in the upcoming Hearings are strongly urged to view the Second Draft on the Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission website at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com. Two versions are available: one with notes tracking the changes made, and a ‘clean copy included. Other than the tracking notes the two versions are identical.
